Toronto Equine Hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic services,
surgical procedures and medical treatments.
Surgery

Toronto Equine Hospital offers orthopedic and soft tissue
surgical procedures. Anesthetic monitoring includes a pre-operative
anesthetic profile and assessment, blood pressure, electro-cardiography
and pulse oximetry. Each patient is carefully monitored from
pre-operative to post-operative care.
Digital Radiography

Digital Radiography is used to clearly define various types
of osseous and soft tissue pathology. Diagnostic images are
ready within seconds for interpretation.
Shock-Wave Therapy
Shock wave therapy is useful in treating suspensory tears
and numerous other orthopedic and soft tissue injuries. Our
shock wave therapy unit is focused and targeted by inline
ultrasonography.
3D Ultrasonography
For soft tissue and orthopedic injuries, the Toronto Equine
Hospital offers three dimensional ultrasonography. By compiling
cross sectional data, a composite three dimensional model
can be created and manipulated to evaluate an infinite number
of slices in a 360 degree venue.
Nuclear Scintigraphy

Because our patients cannot talk, nuclear scintigraphy is
a valuable diagnostic tool. This imaging device allows us
to examine even the largest structures such as the pelvis
and hips, helping us to diagnose often difficult lameness
cases.
Gastroscopy
Gastric ulceration is a condition suffered by horses of all
breeds and disciplines but is particularly common among race
horses. Gastroscopy is performed at the Toronto Equine Hospital
to assess stomach ulcers and determine the best treatment..
