Front End Nuclear Scan

 

The following is a set of typical images obtained for a front end nuclear scan. If necessary, additional views are taken during the nuclear scan to further characterize scintigraphy findings. The regions of the horse depicted in the images correspond to the similarly shaded regions on the skeleton diagram. The images displayed below are not necessarily normal and may have lesions present.

Humerus – the long bone above the shoulder
Metacarpus – the front cannon bone or shin
Radius – the long bone above the knee
Scapula – the shoulder blade
